BB is growing on me, but it's not BB, it's just "darker blue" and black, well,... it's black, meh.

 

But I've been wanting to try permanent quink blue... but all I've seen is vintage stuff. Is there a place we North American's can actually get current production permanent blue?

Not as far as I've been able to determine.   The last time I found either bottles or cartridges of (modern) Quink Permanent Blue was probably close to a decade ago at this point.  

I saw a bottle of Permanent Blue for sale on eBay a few years ago from a seller in the UK -- but apparently there was some law that prohibited either it to be shipped to the US or shipped out of the UK (forget which now).
