Can you buy blank newspaper (or equivalent paper)?

I find newspaper gives me the nicest response to fountain pens and ink. I like practising my handwriting on the empty spaces of newspapers.

Can you buy blank newspaper sheets? or what is the best equivalent stationery paper?

Just search for “blank newsprint” on Amazon.com and other retail sources on the Internet.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Your local moving company will probably be willing to sell you a package of the blank newsprint that they use for packing. If you're moving, they give them free if you're packing yourself, but if you're not a moving customer, you'll have to pay. They're large sheets, so you'll have to cut them down for convenient use with your pens.

Artist supply stores will probably also have reams or pads of this type of paper, probably in a more usable size.

I know that you used to be able to get in in art stores (I seem to recall getting it in college sometimes for my art classes).

Yup, you still can -- I just checked the Dick Blick website (although I don't know if the prices are good or not).  Available in sketchpads but also in loose sheet packages.

You can find it in pads at any art store or a company like Blick.com for online sales. It's called newsprint and should be quite cheap and comes in many sizes. Traveler's Company also has a newsprint paper notebook you can get as well in their regular size.
