For "older and newer data tables", do you mean your own data as found in this thread?

Aaah, sorry, no - lost in translation.

I meant the tables already existing long before I started my own measurements - plus my own measurements...

Your ink drawer must be bursting at the seams! ;)  (Or did Quin stop by with a gift?)

:lticaptd:I'm looking forward to your reviews! ;)  (David told me he did this, and I was laughing, imagining how you were going to puzzle out the overflowing ink drawer problem.)

It would had, it would must have ... if not ... good old European magic crashed my mind! 💥

To be precise, it was a magic procedure that required some preparation and a mind, fully cleaned from daily routine thoughts: I put 5 ink bottles into a new cardboard box, named "to be gifted away" - and all of a sudden, the magic did it's intended work and <splash> there was room for these new bottles!

Great, absolutely great! I will repeat that on demand! ;) 🧙‍♀️

No! Waiting for Quin any longer! 👍

Me too, me too! They will not come all together, more like one at a time. What I can reveal so far is: Petrol IG 1 g/L is magic! 🧙‍♀️ Who would have thought? But I also love the "standard" Purpur-Schwarz IG 3 g/L quite a lot. And the Purpur IG 1 g/L is a fully worthy follower of the unobtanium Fritz Schimpf Gelassenheit (which was/is one of my favourites over years ...)

Aaaahhh, long teeth, nail-biting tension, tachycardia?

Haha! ;) 😈 :)

Thank you for all of your work! Wanted to buy and try a certain (iron gall) ink but due to this list decided not to.

Dear FPN users.

Life changes - sometimes for the worse, but most time for the better. And so it is for me.

My daily schedule changed end of summer with me now most of the time AFK. I rarely start my computer and even less often have a look at or  read contribution at FPN or Reddit and I canceled most podcasts and all YouTube subscriptions with fountain pen and stationary topics.

This is not the end of me using fountain pens in daily life - such a thing will "never1" happen. But I now spend much more time with traveling, with outdoor sports and with gardening than with reading reports and reviews of stationary products.

No doubt, I will visit FPN and its great community from time to time, but not in such a density as in the years before and only as a reader.

My special thanks go to @LizEF and @yazeh for always being constructive discussion partners! 👍 Thank you so much! 🙏

With a cordially "thank you" to all FPN contributors (you all know, who I mean ;) ),

and with best wishes for the 2026 fountain pen year! 🎉 🎆

InesF

1) never in this context means: as long as I can hold a fountain pen I will write with a fountain pen! ;) :)

One life!

Oh... this is going to be a loss for us all, but of course it sounds like a very nice development for you.

I do hope you will still be attending future Pelikan Hubs or similar meetings in Vienna. 👋

May they always be for the better! (I know they won't be, but I can wish it for you!) :)

:crybaby: I've already been missing you - the search for Professor Eenness isn't the same without Professor Ines to comment on its progress!  Clearly, I'm going to have to print out our progress and mail it to you from time to time. ;)

It has been such a joy to learn inky science from you, to have your insights on what my microscopic photos reveal, and just to discuss inky and fictional adventures with you.  Thank you for greatly improving my FPN experience!

@InesF thanks for letting us know. 🙏 I'm glad you're enjoying life, travelling, gardening, drawing and writing.

I'm happy that you've disconnected from digital web and connecting to the beautiful web of life, even though I miss your posts and input. 😺😿

Thanks for teaching me, that science can be fun.

Thanks for your lovely, graceful art and lovely handwriting samples  Fare forward. :)

I will very much miss your contributions, but it sounds as though the changes in your life right now are all good, so I am very pleased for you!  Thank you for all you've taught us, and for your lovely handwritten posts.

Thank you so much, all of you!

@LizEF: I promise, I continue reading the adventures of "our" magical party! A delay? Yes. But missing? No! :)

@yazeh: There is no one sided teaching. Thank you for teaching me, the pleasure is all mine! 🙏

@inkstainedruth: I always enjoyed your contributions. Thank you for sharing with the community! :)

@knarflj: Thank you so much! Indeed, there is a life beyond bits and bytes! ;)

PS: I'm still reading here at FPN .... ;)  No chance to give up such a great community!

 The balance between the real world and the online world can be a challenge. Glad to hear we still make the cut. Hope you're enjoying some winter adventures out there in the real world! :D

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
