MB Writer's Edition Rudyard Kipling - from 2019 but still available.

Hehehehe...and therein lies the rub!!
That's the same reason I'm still using "Vert Atlantide" and just skimming off the top without shimmer!!
A bottle of the MB ink is almost half my monthly allowance of "Fun Money"!!!

Save even more money and just buy a big bottle of Diamine Green Umber - very close in colour and a lovely ink to use, as well as being cheap as chips :)

But does Diamine Green Umber have the same impressive level of water resistance as Vert Atlantide? I'm truly impressed by the latter, even though of course it isn't waterproof, and the green colour as well as the shimmer particles will come off with soaking, leaving very distinct and legible grey marks on the page. I think this ink was designed for writing in books to last long after sinking to the depths of the ocean.

Hmmm...I'll be watching this with interest.

A couple of drops of a Noodler's Polar Green will fix that. I recently filled a pen which had beheld your favourite Polar Green (if I recall well :D). Despite all the cleaning a reside was left. The hot Pink turned into a lovely purple, which was waterproof....

No, Green Umber doesn't. But there are a couple of better value inks in a very similar colour area that do - both from De Atramentis: for a proper waterproof ink, their Document Grey Green is just lovely, and for a regular ink with very good water-resistance, Jane Austen is just a hint darker, but very beautiful.

Saw your review earlier this year and finally got a sample from a kind individual. My writing and ink don't seem as pretty as yours (I wish the shimmer were more visible!), but the colour is very calming. Thank you for the review!

Samples aren't great for inks with shimmer.  It's always a bit of a lottery as to whether you'll get much shimmer as it's hard to be sure to get enough of the particles into a vial.

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

      There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

      Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

      Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
