Colorverse Permanent Navy

Plumix Stub on Rhodia

I believe this is the first review of the ink

Flow: moderate, not too wet nor too dry

Shading: yes

Bleed/Feather: none

Saturation: medium

Color: light blue black

Water Resistance: excellent (water test coming soon)

Notes: well-behaved office/professional ink for cheap paper (part of the "office" Colorverse line). Comes only in the 30ml bottle, so more accessible than the strange large and small bottle pairings from other Colorverse inks.

This is one of the few Colorverse inks I have (I like the occasional permanentish dye ink) and mine is a lot darker than I'm seeing on screen. Could be my monitor, or perhaps scanner settings?

Here is the water resistance test. It appears to be virtually waterproof. I think the ink might be on the dry side, so it may appear lighter in a drier writer.

I do like this ink, so I may consider purchasing a full bottle.

Could you post an image?

Of course. I just have to find either the pen I have it already in or the bottle, which won't happen before tomorrow (given the time here now!)

Couldn't find the pen, but found the bottle and just inked up the first thing that came to hand from the 'clean' pot. On a scan, it's not actually as different as I expected - though I usually use it in a wetter pen than a Pilot. I think the closest match I have to it would be kyo no oto aionibi (which of course is really dry). I might see what it's like with a photograph instead.

The fast drying time and water resistance make this an ink I like a lot, along with the grey from the same series.

And here's a quick and dirty phone shot - which (forgive the awful lighting) is much closer to how it actually looks IMO - I think it might just be one of those that doesn't like being scanned!

There is no need to apologize!  Your contribution is sure to help some readers decide whether they want to get samples to test for themselves.

I've found that this is a nice color, but isn't very saturated.  From a dry pen, it seems faded.  From a wet pen, it looks great.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
