Engraved Parker 51 with cracked hood: too historic to replace?

I recently bought off Ebay a burgundy aerometric Parker 51.

It was apparently dropped at some point: the nib is bent, the tip of the hood broken off, and the hood cracked.  The obvious solution is to source a new hood.

But--its cap is engraved "General Quirino Uria": he's a somewhat significant figure in Cuban history (Chief of Police pre-Batista).  Is this pen something I should keep intact for its historic interest?

A hood is a 15$ item. No issue replacing it. A nib swap runs around $30  unless you want an exotic point.
