Montblanc Elvis - Old Glory Blue

Hi all

Managed to get my hands on the Montblanc Elvis Great Person - Old Glory Blue.

Haven't seen any reviews on FPN yet, so posting it here for reference.

The only indicator that its the Elvis Old Glory Blue is the packaging box itself.

Otherwise, It is just a plain standard 50ml glass bottle that Montblanc uses for limited inks.

I used 3 different pens to show the effect of the ink with different width:

1) Parker Duofold Centennial Big Red XF

2) Montblanc 145 Fine

3) Sailor 1911S Maki-e Zoom

This is a Dark Blue which is unlike any of the previous Blue series that Montblanc has released before.

The ink is generally well behaved with no bleedthrough or feathering on Filofax 100gsm paper.

I do see myself using this ink on a regular basis as fills the gap between my standard Montblanc Lapis Lazuli and Midnight Blue (non-iron gall)

Overall, a nice standard Dark Blue that is fit for daily use.

I got the ink for SGD55 from the Montblanc boutique.

Cheers! Thanks for reading.

The difference between this and the Starwalker Blue that namrehsnoom just reviewed is like night and day.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Great that most are able to view the pictures!

I am not sure about Starwalker Blue ink as I do not own it; but from the reviews that I had seen that may be a dark Teal ink much more Grey in it. In the case of Elvis, its more of a dark Blue instead.

I am using Filofax 100gsm notebook paper

Thanks for the review... I wondered how this one compared to the StarWalker. Like chromantic commented: a difference of night and day. Personally I prefer the StarWalker: more my type of colour, and also more expressive shading. So thanks again, I now know for sure that I can skip the Elvis.
