V'Sign Neo and the Chelpark Moti.

V'Sign from Instawrite is a pen brand based out of extended Mumbai. Their other brand is Beena and they are OEMs for some Indian pen brands.

The Neo is a true differential piston filler pen with a slip metal cap and a seamless plastic body. They dont make such pens anymore and the Neo seems to be the only such pen on the market today.

It comes in a plain black cardboard box.

Satin lined insides. I would call it fancy at the price point.

The label. The customer care number works. WhatsApp is a good way to contact them. I had to pay 30rs extra over the printed price for upgrading to a M nib.

The nib. Cosmetics are more than adequate at this price point. The nib writes quite well. Choices are F and M only.

ABS feeder. The pen holds about 1.08ml ink per my measurements.

The Neo is very similar to the Chelpark Moti. https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/72622-chelpark-moti/

Chelpark is now defunct. The Moti was a good pen and the Neo can be a good substitute to that.

The Neo wrote well. Perfect ink flow out of the box. I think this can be a good students pen. There are very few such seamless models on the market today which can offer such a flexible and comfortable grip. The price at 180/- for a M nib is perfectly reasonable and lower than the Elegante from Camlin. I might be buying a few more in other Colors (blue , maroon) to give away to kids.

Cheers,

Hari

Nice pen; I had bought it some time back.

Somehow, I faced the issue of drying of the nib with this pen [also with Camlin 47, drying after every couple of hours].

I have given it a good wash and scrub; will ink it again and see.

With piston-filler pens, I have a sense of hesitation while twisting the piston - a feeling 'whether it will break' especially when the piston comes near the bottom. Is this fear justified, or is the piston sturdy and resilient enough?

The piston mechanisms are sturdy enough for intended use. The weakness of cheap Indian piston fillers might be the seal itself which can wear out.

With any piston filler it's advisable to be gentle with the knob. Stop twisting when the piston is extended ( you can see the seal through the ink window). Forcing the knob can always lead to disaster. You will get a good feel of the pen after you have filled it a few times. Practice filling with water first. Also never allow ink to dryout in the pen barrel. If you are not using the pen remove ink and flush it with water and store.
