Beena Antic Fountain Pen

Beena is a well-known brand for fountain pens in India.

Here are some previous posts on other models of Beena:

Magic: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/335371-beena-magic-nos-w-a-retractable-nib/

Beena 500/Lincoln: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/89413-beena-500/

V'Sign Stride: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/355022-beena-vsign-stride-fountain-pen/

When I first saw the pictures of the model called 'Antic', I was drawn to it's simplicity and elegance of design.

It is a small (but not slim) pen [length = 13.4 cm, cap diameter = 1.3cm, section diameter = 1cm]. I believe it is available in maroon, blue and black colours.

Cap has 'beena' and 'antic' inscribed on it.

The screw-cap opens in one and a half turns to reveal a short section (2 cm long), gold-plated nib (with 'iridium point' inscribed) on a plastic feed.

The pen has a "3-in-1" filling mechanism [eyedropper + converter + cartridge]. The material of the pen is plastic; it looks sturdy and solid, with good finish. I have previously used Beena 'Magic' fountain pen, and I feel that this pen is sturdier than 'Magic'.

On writing, the nib is fine, wet and smooth. I think it is a good pen for everyday use. Although it is a small pen, it is not too slim nor too short. The cap posts comfortably on the barrel.

Considering the cost (Rs. 120/-), it is good value for money.

Please share your thoughts if you have used this pen (or other pens from Beena). :)

Enjoy your weekend ! :)

Really nice. Can you suggest a good place to buy it.

Did you know of an identical pen called the Chelpark Antik? https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/79652-chelpark-antic/

In 2001 I noticed a colleague using a pen identical to the antik but with a metal section abd a converter. That pen remains a mystery.

I bought it by contacting Mr. Nikhil Motwani of Beena pens [whatsapp/phone = +91 90296 76747, Email = vsignpens@gmail.com].

I had not heard of Chelpark Antic; thanks for pointing it out. It is almost identical. Except for feed and filling systems. Very interesting.

sure will contact them. Thanks.

Many of our Indian pens are inspired from some established foreign models. Reg the Antic it looks homegrown. Now with a good TIO nib unit I think it will be a pen really offering value.

It is nearly impossible to get Indian pens in China. Even if a seller has storefront on Taobao or JD.com, getting search results to show that when one is searching in English is brutally hard. If I could, I'd buy this.
