Sensa Is Back!

A person of unusually keen foresight, Robert Rosenberg, has revived fountain pen brands of the past, such as Conklin and Esterbrook and others. And Robert delights us once again with the recently released, welcome return of the SENSA Line of writing instruments! My new SENSA pens just arrived.

SENSA is an ergonomic pen. Restated, it is specifically designed to minimize physical effort and discomfort when writing. This is accomplished with an interactive, soft-touch, plasmium-filled gripping section. This inner fluid is displaced with the pressure from our fingers. The result is a reduction of stress to the fingers and hand which normally occurs when we write. Calluses are eliminated and there's a potential benefit to people suffering with arthritic hands.

SENSA, "the world's most comfortable pen" was featured in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and won the Silver Industrial Design Award presented by the Designers Society of America.

I can confirm the comfortable feel when writing, and am pleased with all aspects of my new SENSA pens. Included is a converter and cartridges.

Maybe you should read the old thread about the re-issued Esterbrook brand before touting ANYTHING Mr. Rosenberg does. Including the post from someone who got a harassing phone call from the guy when there were problems with a re-issued Conklin (IIRC) the poster had purchased on eBay. And he called a phone number that was kept PRIVATE.

Pen looks ugly. And uncomfortable to use. And once again (despite your protestations to the contrary) your roots in advertising are showing, and NOT in a good way....

I have one (old?) Sensa, bought at Zurich airport if my memory serves me well. It was a pleasant surprise and the nib was very smooth and cushion like.

 

This being said, could you please make use of a less in your face police if it's not to much asking?

For clarity and avoidance of doubt, I'll start with, I agree with you on that.

 

If I want to promote a product (or brand) because — as a consumer, user and/or fan — I want the manufacturer to survive and thrive in the marketplace, so that I can mobilise consumer spending from fellow hobbyists who aren't under my direct control, I'd be doing (a whole lot of) work to prepare/produce/publish a 'testimonial' and/or product review, instead of only 'advertising' the availability of a product to a discerning audience. I'd be happy to do so for Sailor, Platinum, La Couronne du Comte, Cult Pens, and even Amazon unasked, because they — as manufacturers and/or retailers — have done me a good turn and kept me satisfied as a consumer (with money to spend) with their offers again and again, and I'd happy to give any of them my repeat custom out of my own pocket, but would also like to see them do well with consumer spending I can't afford on my own.

 

Whereas some blatant 'advertisements' are indeed counterproductive in attracting new spending and/or addition penetration into the hobbyist market.

anyhow, yes, the OP should consider, by the feedback he is getting, that his "not so well masked as reviews" ads, do not seem to be greatly appreciated, actually are perceived as annoying, and yes, are obviously becoming counterproductive for him.

 

Perhaps some clear and openly declared promotional posts in the classifieds might stir more genuine interest in those who do want to find it?

OP has had multiple posts closed and in every one they have been encouraged to tone down the sales pitch.

 

At this point, they either don't care or the amount of the kickback outweighs the risk.

Had and still have an old one with a fine nib. Circa 2003, I think. I occasionally ink it up and it still writes well.

 

As for the current offering, it looks like the old Sensa ballpoint with a nib grafted onto it.Definitely NOT anything I would look at with any interest. The squooshingy grip thing on mine still seems fully functional.

 

As for the poster and their style, some people still regard even negative attention as being of some value.

 

That's too bad in the current environment here on FPN (my opinion, of course).

I had two, pencil and ballpoint, back in the day. The gel turned kind of weird after a year, like it was sweating through the rubber. Unpleasant.
