Efnir: Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

This is one of my top grays. It's so interesting. In some light it almost looks brown, certainly beige. Not your typical gray. It also has a slight pink-purple tinge.

Yes, brownish and pinkish both fit. And now I'm wondering how really watered-down KWZI Brown Pink would compare. Hmm. :)

I have KWZ Brown Pink, also one of my top favorites. Never considered it being similar or diluting it. I think it'd need a lot of dilution, which would make it quite dry. I'll check though!

:) Yes, it would definitely need lots of dilution, but still, they seemed a bit similar to me. Maybe I'll do a little chromatography - haven't done that in ages.

OK, done, and KWZI Brown Pink was most surprising, and other than both having pink in them, there's not much similar:

I did not try to color-correct this photo - the KWZI is brighter than the photo shows, the Kiri-same is browner.

I have always liked this ink.

Can it be used in a professional setting and is it dark enough that it will be legible if a copy needed to be made.

Thanks,

David

You're very welcome!  It's a little pale out of my EF nib, but I can see a larger, wetter nib working well in an office - unless pencils are forbidden, then you're gonna get complainers (which could also be fun ;) ).

I have it in a Kaweco sport with a B nib at the moment, and it's plenty dark enough. Copies just fine. I think it would be more than OK in a medium, but might start to get a bit less easy to copy in a dry fine if that's the sort of thing you use.

It's one of my favourite greys, and I love grey inks :)

Thanks for the review.

The ink, despite being a nice one, sadly seems a bit too light for my taste. I used it once and feeling was same, too light, but thats just me, its pretty ink no doubt just not my cup of tea.

On a side note, I am pondering too, why boxing wizard....hmm time to add magic to those fists I guess.....:vbg:

Can't disagree with this.  The brown-lean also isn't my favorite.  But I can understand why some like it.

  Pretty sure it was because someone needed and X and a Z in the same sentence....  Or maybe they box because their magic isn't so good...

Here's the line width measurement. The line is one of those used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 300µm.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
