Orange Ink Most Like Oranges?

Sunsets and peppers are beautiful, but right now I am craving the kind of orange that grows on trees, so I need an ink that most resembles a ripe, juicy orange fruit. I have seen Apache Sunset, Habanero, and Herbin's Orange Indien. None are what I am looking for. I suspect it MIGHT be bright and a bit transparent, not too dark.

Thanks

+1. This is a magnificent orange ink, and is pretty well-behaved considering the color.

Look further afield. Start with Japanese inks (including but not limited to Bungubox, as has already been suggested), then Korean inks (e.g. Colorverse), Chinese inks (PenBBS, Hero, Ancient Song, etc.). Or how about De Atramentis (https://de-atramentis.com/en/ink-inks-orangen-.html)?

Sailor Kin-Mokusei

Not a bad suggestion at all, actually.

Montblanc Gandhi is nice and not too bright. May need to search a bit to find some.

I quite like Pelikan mandarin

+ 1. Goes from rather subtle when light to 1000 watts with a wet pen.

I have a problem with De Atramentis scented inks. I love their Blackberry because it's such a lovely dark and rich colour but the problem is that the scent is so accurate and powerful that every time I use it I get really hungry.

I'll buy that.

  • De A's scented inks are two-fold. Some smells are fantastically "accurate" plus stable, e.g. Ylang-Ylang, whereas some are pretty off-tone e.g. Patchouli (smell-wise, that is).
  • When I use these, I don't get hungry, but thirsty. :lticaptd:

Don't forget to check out the orange thread (see the signature line below).

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The orange you describe is my favorite orange & orange is one of my favorite colors for ink. Many have disappointed me & some of the ones I have most enjoyed are out of production & have been costly to obtain.

I have been very pleased with the SCRIBO orange ink, Arancia di Sicilia, I received from PEN CHALET. I purchased it when they first introduced it & despite being 90 ml, I thought it was a bit pricy @ 39.00. I noticed they are now offering it @ a sale price of $31.20. The recently introduced AURORA orange ink is also quite nice but I think I like the SCRIBO one better.

Great suggestions here. I am ordering some samples tomorrow. Much depends on what part of the orange we are thinking of. It could be the skin of a whole orange or maybe the sliced orange with its glistening fruit and a fine mist of spray floating around it.

My J. Herbin Orange Indien has gotten some use in the past two days and it is looking better and better to me all the time.

To be the orange I like best, it should be ORANGE, @ first glance & not a "reddish" or brownish orange (as Orange Indien looked to me) but primarily orange, without other influencing color shifts.

Montblanc Ink of Joy or Gandhi, Caran D'Ache Saffron, Bungubox Fresh Oranges of Lake Hamana & Omas Orange are all inks that said ORANGE to me @ first glance.

LG's reviews cause me to acquire lots of inks. :). Also, HalloweenHJB is an orange user. :)
