Well, I seem to have not gotten home with the new Dark Dusk Safari SE yesterday (the last time I remember having it was showing it off to a guy I know is a pen geek).   So, it was off to the Vanness website to order a replacement (sigh) and a converter for it, and I filled out my order to get free shipping with some ink samples which caught my eye:

Ferris Wheel Press New York Collection Lights on Broadway

Wearingeul Wonderful Wizard of Oz Dorothy

     Van Dieman's Bunch of Roses

     Robert Oster Forest Green

     Robert Oster Deep Purple

Robert Oster Cities of America New York

Yes.  I'm doomed....

So yesterday I ordered Waterman’s green and purple colours. Today I was offered an NOS MontBlanc “unbreakable container” bottle with green ink for a ridiculously low price so I bit. I like the look of the inverted pyramid with a little kickstand.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 20 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, FWP Edwards Gardens

MontBlanc 310s F, mystery grey ink left in converter

Pelikan M300 green striped CIF, Colorverse Moonlit Veil

Pelikan M400 Blue striped OM, Troublemaker Abalone

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

I like Waterman Tender Purple.  I have it in the sterling Ciselé 75 with the F nib at the moment (and paid a lot less -- and it's WAAAAY easier to get -- than what I had in the other 75, with the B nib a while back -- the MB Jimi Hendrix homage ink...).

Robert Oster Australian Ten Dollar Note Blue is on the way to me. It was on sale, looks bright and pretty and I thought, "Why the heck not?"

I recently got Waterman Harmonious Green ink. Ink Twins! It’s a lovely proper green like the green from elementary school.

Yay, ink twins! I am excited to use all of the Waterman colors (minus black, I don’t really use it) both separately and mixed together.

After succumbing to the various weekend deals in my inbox, I decided to get two inks that I've been really looking forward to trying: KWZ Walk Over Vistula and Taccia Sabimidori. I'm really excited to get these into a pen and enjoy.

Ooh! Let us know what you think of Walk Over Vistula--that one's been on my wishlist for some time. Also the Taccia--never have tried them and am curious what theyr'e like.

@Pen Ffynnon I really like Taccia inks. I believe that Teranishi makes them, if you have any of those, they are very similar. Ao is the bluest blue to have ever blued. In fact, now that I was reminded of it, I should use it.

@PenFfynnon -- I liked Walks over Vistula okay, but I had hoped that it would be the substitute for the (now mostly un-obtanium) MB Tolstoy homage ink, and it wasn't quite the same color.

Not yet, but a few days ago I ordered Teranishi Fujiyama Irodori Sakura Pink (possibly the longest ink name, ever) from Jet Pens since it had finally come back in stop. I'll keep that in mind when I try the Sakura--thank you!

Thanks, Ruth! I've seen pictures of MB Tolstoy and it's very pretty--and, sadly, very unobtainable. 😕

PBWilson 1970-

All of the Taccia Ukiyo-e inks are gorgeous, and they are the only ink bottles that I still keep in their boxes, which show how the woodcut artist (in your case Hokusai) used that color.  Other ink companies have used the concept of connecting an ink color to a color used by a specific artist, but this Taccia set is the only one I know of that pulls it off successfully.

@lascosas, your ability to find ink is second to none. What a fun haul!

Thank you.

Actually multiple hauls, but it wasn't until this weekend that I took them out of the boxes and started trying to figure out how to organize them.  These are Tono & Lims, and the first ones I purchased a couple of years ago I labelled things like Grumpy Brown Bear with Red Necklace.  Now I'm just numbering them and keeping them by photo, not name.

Of all the ink companies in the world, T&L inks are simply wacky.  In the best sense of the word.

I'm really looking forward to trying it. There are so many interesting colors and I'm already planning my next purchase.

This is excellent nomenclature. I noticed that Tono and Lims is really taking off now. A couple of years ago I saw it here and there, but now there’s store exclusives and an explosion of swatching videos.

Swatching the Tono & Lims ink I came upon a perfect example of their wackiness.   I am not a fan of scented inks, but when I do encounter one it is usually innocuous.  Normally an insipid flower scent.  But the attached?  Over the top fishy.
