Lamy Logo,cp1 And Pure

Looking in some email stores for a new Lamy pen I found three models that look quite similar in the computer screen The Logo ,Pur and Cp1. The prices are also similar but not the same. All of them use the same nib and have a aluminium metal colour. Maybe one of the Lamy experts here knows the differences.Thanks.

CP1 is the premium model, and IIRC the only one with a spring loaded clip.

The Logo has a spring loaded clip as well, but it is different (the clip starts on the top of the cap, not on the side).

 

I have all three. I've always used the Logo a lot as a workhorse. The all steel version is quite robust, the thread are also in steel. Mine is 15 years old.

 

I like also the Pure, it is the most comfortable for my hands. Not too thin, just perfect. But I've bought it just some months ago, so I cannot say it has been a long time relationship like the one with the Logo.

 

I have also two cp1, the black and the platinum. The platinum has a friendly soft nib in gold. The black has the normal steel nib. I tried it with different nibs but the feed is too dry for me. Maybe is a problem of mine. But though I like it aesthetically, I don't use it because of the dryness.

I have a CP1 with steel nib. Mine writes like a wet-ish Safari. While it's not in the workhorse rotation, it's my grail pen due to its aesthetics and quality. I really like mine.

Add to the confusion by including the Scala.

I hate the logo, think it feels dramatically cheaper than the CP-1.

 

Nibs are all the same. CP-1 platinum is not really worth the price jump since you can just get a CP-1 black and the gold nib for another $80. I have both and really dislike the polished section on the platinum.
