Cleaning Ink Off Duofold Barrel

I have been a bit ham-fisted filling my 91 year old Duofold.

What is the best way of cleaning up the ink fingerprint I have made?

The offending ink is Diamine Royal Blue

Try baking soda and water..make a paste..and try it...

Beautiful photograph of a great model! I use a solution of 1 part ammonia, 6-8 parts cool water, a tiny drop of dish detergent. Mix well, dip a cotton cloth into the liquid. Rub the ink stain vigorously. I've used this many times without any discoloration of 1920s Big Red Duofolds or other fountain pens. It's a substitute for Parson's Sudsy Ammonia which is no longer on the market. That was, in my view, the best ink solvent ever created. Good luck.
