$400 For Lamy 2000 Bauhaus?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have an option to buy the Lamy 2000 Bauhaus version for $400 and wondering if that is a good price for the pen?

I'm asking because I may sell it in September when the new Dialogue CC is launched. (will sell it if I prefer the Dialogue CC else I'll keep the 2000 Bauhaus)

Appreciate your thoughts!

Regards,

Sidd

Lamy 2000 Bauhaus are not easy to find. The price has gone up but there is no guaranty they will be at the same level in a few months or that they will continue to go up.

Yes ,I think there will be not many sales in the secondary market of this model in the near future. There was a big demand for them, myself included, and I was not able to source one until a friend find one in Singapore.

Did you purchase the matching Braun razor?

I didn't realise that Braun released a razor at the same time?

I'm sorry. The thread caused me to do some personal research on the design. Here is a link and will explain my question.

Overpriced as hell for $400 in general, but people seem to think they're worth that or more, so if you really want a slightly different color plastic, $400 is about as cheap as you're gonna find it.

They seem to look the same as a regular-production Lamy 2k. What's the difference?

Using right now:

Jinhao 9019 "F" nib running Birmingham Firebox

Majohn 140 "M" nib running Lamy Dark Lilac

Kaweco Sport Aluminum "M" nib running Diamine Firefly

Delta Reservoir "EF" nib running Colorverse Mariner

Theyre a very dark blue. Its a really handsome colour, but nigh-on impossible to photograph accurately.

thanks all, I received it and been using it for the past couple days.

It is a lovely dark blue with a smooth and fine EF nib. Really enjoying it. I was expecting the blue to be almost black but in most lighting conditions you can clearly tell the dark blue shade.

I suppose you could question if the blue colour is worth the additional price, but in that case you always have the regular 2000 that is as good ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

I'd love it if it cost within 15% of the normal model!

Seriously. $400 MSRP for different color plastic. Lamy is run by absolute lizard people.

Glad you like it though. It is definitely collectible and I doubt will lose much, if any value if kept nice, unlike the stainless one which most people hated because it was waaaaaaaay too heavy,

congrats on acquiring the pen. Now, i do not want to demotivate u but i just pack mine back into the box after finishing 1 round of ink. The reason is the pen is scratchier than my Lamy Vista which glides through the paper. Thinking it wont be used much, i think its better that the pen stays in the box.

Anyway, enjoy the pen!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
