Pelikan 4001 Blue Black

Today I flushed out a Pelikan M1000 that had been filled with 4001 Blue-Black from a Bilingual bottle.

Very small particles could be seen in the rinsed water...something I've not seen before in years of using this ink and color.

Question for others...are you seeing this in 4001 or other iron gall inks?

I haven't seen it in my pen yet, but the phenomenon is hardly unknown.

Here is some information in another related post about the date stamped on the Pelikan ink boxes

I recently bought a bottle of 30ml bottle of Pelikan 4001 Blau-Schwarz (Blue Black).  I'm in the USA and got it from an Italian dealer.  BTW, it went through the Netherlands customs.  The dealer said that was because they use a courier with warehouse in the Netherlands.

The box has a date stamp 20H.  What does this mean?

That means August 2020, if I recall correctly.
