Caran D'ache Geneve Vs Leman

I have a couple of Caran d'Ache Geneve pens and was curious what the differences are between this pen and the newer Leman series. I noted the change in clip, location of the band on the barrel (Geneve)/cap (Leman). Are there differences in the nibs, section, or other?

I like the Geneve quite a bit with it's smooth, somewhat wet nib/feed, and even though I'd prefer a bit more give (rather stiff nib, not quite a nail, though), it's still a pleasure to write with.

Any differences with the Leman? Would that be an upgraded writing experience, or in style only?

I can't comment because I have neither pen but I would love to hear about your comparison.

I've only had the Leman.

However, from what I've discerned from pictures of the Geneve, the Leman has the following:

 

1) thicker, one-piece clip, articulated at the top of the cap

2 ) metal cap threads spread over a thinner band on the pen body

3) enamelled, followed by sandblasted cap logo decoration in second iteration

4) flat, followed by finned nib feed in second iteration

 

Flat nib feed and pen barrel to its end might look similar.

 

2017 Leman onwards seems to have gone back to a wider spaced out cap thread on barrel, moving the logo band to the cap ring.

The weekend, I will add some close-up photos of the 1994 LE in gold and the 5th anniversary of Geneve model edition in silver (year?).

Some details are still under investigation or I need to reconfirm the data I have.

 

The following few models existed - I have seen an old CdA catalog:

 

The gold one in my pictures is the 90th anniversary model of CdA in 1994 - their first Limited Edition.

The silver one is a special? edition for the 5th anniversary of the Geneve model, there was also a gold one (with 10 um coating).

Actually it is Rhodium not Silver.

 

The normal models were black and, translated from German, brown, green, blue, and rhodium/blue.

The brown, green, blue are more marble-colors, the brown is shown by the OP, as is the rhodium blue.

 

You can see the two different gold nibs, both are M, the right one is F - clearly to see the different amount of tipping.

I wanted to collect these models but then decided, using is better than collecting and having all models is not important.

 

Sorry, today, the natural light is very poor - it is raining cats and dogs. Anyway, I will make detailed review for my blog.
