I fashion myself several using nothing but 1.5mm / 2mm / 2.5mm bungee cord , the cord can be knotted to form a simply close loop ( for the notebook ) and held a couple of round out loop at the end to hold the pen ; if you frequent the usual online retail site you will find literally dozens of options there

Levenger sells elastic Notebook Belts that might do the trick for you.

I just picked up a Superior Labor clip. Maybe I'll do a review of it.

Yes, please do. I’d kinda like to see what $55 buys you that Levenger’s $4 version doesn’t.

I’ve got a more substantial vintage penholder on a notebook “belt” from The Colorado Pen Co. I’d like to pick up another one, but I’m not sure it would work on a softcover book. The non belt version looks like an interesting alternative.

Are you talking about the Leuchtturm loop from Levenger? I tried that one years ago. Maybe it's been improved, but at the time the plastic from the sticking pad intrudes into the loop. I don't really baby my EDC pens, but at the same time try to make sure they're stored in soft places when they're not in use. I felt like over time the plastic would damage a pen's finish.

Other than that, The Supriour Labor clip is reusable (though for the cost it'd better be).

Good point. Sounds like I'll give the Leuchtturm a miss then. But, this is the one I've been thinking about:

It does look like the pen is pretty exposed. Maybe spending hundreds on a pen just to leave it vulnerable like that isn't my best bet?

That one looks better. As for leaving it exposed, my pens are still transported to and from home a case. It's just for getting to and from meetings that I like the loop for. One less thing to carry. I don't want to carry a 4 pen case into a meeting when I'm already juggling a laptop, notebook, mouse etc.

I was looking for these some time ago, and found several options on etsy, as well as some tutorials on youtube for diy loops. Never tried any of them, because I decided I didn't really need one, so can't recommend any one in particular.

I couldn't find a reusable pen loop — back when I last looked, in 2018 — that would place the pen alongside the long edge of the pages of my journals and allow the journal (bundled with fountain pen) to be packed flat between a "pile" of other things. This is of what I ended up buying a couple, to afford my pens some protection against abrasion if they can't be held at the side of the journal:

They do the job well enough, but in the end, I just ended up carrying my pens in leather pen cases separately instead.

If the notebook in question is as flexible as a school copybook/exercise book/composition book, I simply punch a hole in it, then I thread a hair tie through the hole, interlace the hair tie, and then I have my pen holder loop in the book's centre, *and* a handy loop for carrying the book :)

I really love this leather pen holder from The Superior Labor, as it offers a little protection without being bulky. It also patinas beautifully. It fits two small-to-medium sized pens and has a brass money clip on the back to attach it to your notebook cover.

Any separation between the pens? Doesn't look like it, but I like the clip.

No separation, so I wouldn’t recommend putting anything too precious in there. I usually keep a VP and Rotring in mine.

I hate that I want it now. Between vacation shopping, a whole bunch of stationary (bleep) I don't need and a 'too good to pass up' pen price I already spent a pile. And like a fool (again) I thought I was done.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
