Parker 105 Opinions?

My brushed steel 105 also had limited flow even after a few cleanings, couldn't cross my ts; I gently pressed the nib outwards a few times and it seems to have done the trick. It does seem to evaporate a little, ink changes colour slightly for a few words, it's otherwise a nice, reliable pen.

What kind of price should one be willing to pay for the more rarer steel version of the Parker 105?

Can anyone provide some idea?

Thanks in advance!

Well, I purchased one on Ebay last night, from a U.K. seller. It has the original owner's three initials inscribed on it, so the price, all-in with shipping, was $252 USD. A good buy, I hope.

Inspired by this post and some more research, last week, I managed to get myself a mint set consisting of:

(a) Parker 105 golden bark with a 14K Medium nib in mint condition without any personalization, &

(b) Parker 105 stainless steel version in mint condition with steel Medium nib, without any personalization

for USD 288 SHIPPED.

Given that (a) is rare and (b) is rarer, I think it was a nice deal for the set.

Best,

SS

It was truly a fantastic deal for the set.

Hello.

I got a Parker 105 Rolled Gold Bark ballpoint pen separate from the fountain pen.

But the pen doesn't have any indication of rolled gold. We know that fountain pen companion ballpoint pens or mechanical pencils often do not have a designation such as gold filled or rolled gold.

So I have a question out of curiosity.

Does the Parker 105 Rolled Gold Bark Fountain Pen have Rolled Gold markings?

After a few days, but in a 50 pen rotation, my brushed steel 105 (possibly M nib) would render inks progressively darker until it started skipping, even when kept in a zippered case. Finally decided to leave the section soaking in diluted Rapido Eze and so far there have been no problems, even with the somewhat troublesome Aonibi. Just a usage report in case anyone has a similar problem.

Hi,

Just in case anyone would be interested in a Parker 105 Stainless Steel (Flighter model),which is definitely very rare and extremely difficult to come by, there is one listed on eBay right now, waiting for a bid, starting at $169, with free shipping, see link below.

Hope someone takes advantage!

PS

No affiliation with seller.

Best Regards,

Mine burped and burped, did a deep cleaning with Rapido Eze, I even wanted to dismantle it but couldn't think how, it's finally behaving even though it seems to dry out quickly; even as I've kept it in a single velvet pouch inside a pen case...

The 105 shares the same nib as the Parker German wood pens!

Which ones are those?? I am happy to report my 105 is finally behaving, no amount of cleaning seemed to do the trick and I don't see how to disassemble the pen. The solution: Parker blue Quink from an old bottle I had forgotten about.

Edit: just saw a wood pen, looks like a 105 section with a much thicker body and cap.

Only the nib is interchangeable between the 105 and the Wood Pen, the sections are somewhat different.
