Lamy 2000 Bauhaus Cap Won't Snap Shut

It will probably be an easy fix, you might keep your serial. Could be a problem with the inside of the cap.

Hopefully you have it back soon.

L2K is my best pen, love it the most, EF. This pen is very easy to disassemble and to clean. Like it more then my M800 and Sailor Large 1911 and others. On the Internet there is enough film and text about this icon. Just go slow and steady. You will love it even more if you know how to do this.

Haha! I have wondered whether they'd stop production to print out a single replacement pen with the same serial number as mine!

Pretty sure they can just swap the clip from cap to cap if needed. ;)

Thank you for this encouraging reply. I may have to get a black 2000 on which to practice disassembly (a great excuse to buy another pen while I wait)

I don't know about the new Blue 2000, but the steel version of the 2000 has a different cap construction and does not come apart the same way as the black one. Has anyone here tried to take apart the cap of their steel version?

Just a word to let all know that my Lamy Bauhaus has returned home from its trip to Germany. It now clicks neatly shut, and the barrel and section are perfectly flush.

I am delighted with both the repair and the speedy turn around time.

I'm assuming you kept your serial number too then?

Yes I did keep the same serial number. I'm almost positive the barrel was changed, and possibly the cap as well.
