M205 Star Ruby

... I've seen today for the first time the advertising pictures of the next m205 limited edition. It looks that it has some glitter in the dark red transparent body.

Saw that too. Not sure what to think of it, based on the pictures. One pen that must be seen in real life for sure.

Yes, yes, YES!!! Finally! I mean, it's not like I really need a pink shimmering pen, but I just can't abandon a collection going on :)

I could not see any shimmering in the marketing photos. I like the concept of a pink shimmering pen, do I need another M205? My collection is growing too quickly. I have five birds now, another M805 is flying my way too, can I really handle another one...

I am looking forward to the Pelikan hub next month, maybe someone will bring the new M205 and I will get convinced.

I'm wondering if the package "pen + related ink" would be appreciated or not, in my website.

Of course, it should cost a little bit more, compared to the pen alone, but this ruby ink is the Ink Color of the Year (2019) and it looks so nice!

What do you think?

Nice to see Pelikan release a colorful pen. Personally I don't like it because it seems to be pinkish and glittery. I'm still hoping to get a red M200 like the Mars red or the red demonstrator.

The glitter really caught me by surprise. Definitely not what we are used to from the company. I can’t wait to see what it looks like in person as I’ve learned to not trust the pre-release photos. I’m also curious what this may portend for future releases.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

This is the photo shared by Pelikan.

It's quite glittered indeed, but me too thinks that it could be quite soberer in person.

Pelikan already enhanced colors and shades in preview photos, in the past (for example the Ocean Swirl, or the Stone Garden)

I find it very interesting... they should most definitely come out with glitter pens in other colors too, with more bold experiments along those lines.

Hmm, I would have preferred a shimmery marbled rather than the translucent glitter but we'll see.

Noo... glitter is just not... right..

Than again, I am also not enamored with Star Ruby ink colour.

Very cool pen! I like it much more than the red M200 demonstrator I bought way back in 2008 ....

... and I do like the Star Ruby Ink as well.

I'm not a huge fan of glitter, but i think it looks good in this model.

I was going to say the same thing! The red and the glitter combined add a touch of magic to the pen

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
