Parker Victory Mk Iv

Today I got in the mail a Q2 1952 Parker Victory Mk IV. I was looking for a pen made in England and found this pen with Barry Rose at Writetime.co.uk a seller in the UK. I contacted him just before he took a three week trip to New York and he brought the pen with him and shipped it from NY.

This will be my 3rd Parker fp. I have a 45 and 61 and I think I like this one the best of the three. The nib is very smooth with a little bit of softness as I'm told the Newhaven Parkers can have. I have it filled with Montblanc made for BMW blue ink.

Here are the specs since they can be hard to find:

Section 8.8-10.3, 12mm, barrel 119mm, capped 130mm, posted 150mm

Readjusting my eyes—on my screen it looks yellow. Interesting that the three pens are grey. I'll bet they look nice together.

Happiness is a real Montblanc...

Ah, yes. Now I can see the dove grey. Thanks for the photo. These pens were made to last. They look very happy to be together. Enjoy them all!

So far I like writing with the Victory the best of the three. It was funny that the 61 looked to be a wider pen than the 45, but when measured it is about the same. The tapered ends on the 45 are deceptive.

I will keep my eye open for more Victory models. Maybe a nice MK I, or some other colors of MK IV's. I might try a MK V since they seem to be the least expensive but worry it's going to be much thinner pen, but maybe not. It's hard to find good measurements of vintage pens.

The MK-V Victory is the same pen as the Junior aero Duofold in all respects except that its barrel is inscribed 'VICTORY'.

I suspected that, It looks identical. Not that I know the specs on the Junior Duofold... any idea on min and max section size and barrel diameter?

It is more or less the size of the 45 / 61.

Is it also the same as the slimfold or is that even smaller?

No. It is a size bigger (and longer) than the Slimfold (size 5 nib) but longer than the Demi (size 15 nib). Though the Victory has #10 nib.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
