Nice! The 823 has given me more satisfaction than any of my other pens, felt right in my hand from day one.

+1. Hands down the best pen I own.

Might need to get my hands on one. Congrats on a nice pen.

Hi Dave,

Great pen. Great nib. Great guitar. Congratulations.

I love my 823 B. Each time I use it, however, I think how nice it would be as a CI. I think Pendleton Brown will get it soon.

It is my travel pen since I can “lock it down” when flying. Also a huge reservoir. It is also my least temperamental nib.

First thing I did before I inked it was to remove that little o-ring.

Beautiful pen!

I've often wondered if the pen gets back heavy because of the vac mechanism, vs converter pens who have a shorter mechanism of metal parts like the custom 74.

I think they are balanced quite well. In fact, I often struggle to compare the 823 to the custom 74 (or 91/92)... there is something about the 823 that just feels better. The plastic feels so much higher quality than the 74.

I no longer have an 823, this thread is making me miss it.

"Why me?"
"That is a very Earthling question to ask, Mr. Pilgrim. Why you? Why us for that matter? Why anything? Because this moment simply is. Have you ever seen bugs trapped in amber?"
"Yes."

"Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why."
