Triple Start Tap Suppliers?

Where I might be able to find taps to make caps with triple start threads? Any links/advice much appreciated

The reason they're hard to find is because they aren't a stock production item for anyone. They have to go to one of the tap/die making companies and have them custom made. The more ordered the lower the price. Sometimes groups on Facebook or on the IAP will do a group buy to get lower prices but they don't happen very often. Sometimes people that bought some sell them later when they find it isn't for them or they never get to use them.

 

Sometimes it makes sense to put the money towards triple start taps/dies, especially if you want to have several sizes, towards a metal lathe and learn to cut them with it.

A guy on the IAP has a 12mm triple for sale as of a few days ago. You may have to join to see the add. Keep watching their for sale area as they do come up once in a blue moon.

I think Mike has gotten out of supplying triple start taps but it wouldn't hurt to check with him. He might have some stashed.
