Wow!  That's a cool looking pen!  Don't think I'd even heard of that one before just now....  And it was basically NOS?  Score you!

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thank you. It was a very different LE pen that Pelikan did years back. Dromgoole’s had purchased a spectacular collection and the former caretaker had a penchant for LE pens. I don’t know what he actually writes with but all of them were un-inked with original boxes and paperwork. They sold some wonderful pens that day.

My most recent addition, Calculation of Times. Purchased about 6 weeks ago at Dromgoole’s. Box, papers, had never been inked. Lovely to write with.

Wow! Those are hard to get nowadays!

Congrats.

Real nice wartime 100Ns. Glad for the special nibs. Are the cap tops designated “DRP” models? They might have been made outside Germany, since they have gold nibs. Can you please share a macro photo of the nibs?

Hi @stoen,

No DRP on the cap tops, just "Pelikan Gunther Wagner". The black one has a "Export" on the binde (it is actually possible to see it on the first photo above), but the green doesn't have it. Here are the pictures of the nibs (both are currently inked :D )

Beautiful pens in beautiful condition. Congrats! In my entire life I only had three of them in my hands (one of them was Milano). I never saw a grey pencil.

🙂

Thank you.

I already had grey pencils, but I got a matching one with a silver clip from Gerhard Brandl recently. Now, the set is complete:

That’s great, @christof. I wish you a unique writing experience. Here’s my best complete set. Of course it cannot match yours, but I still enjoy writing with it - the nib is unique, and I put red leads in the pencil:

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
