Here's a snap of the small ink stain I have on mine – there are similar stains on the reverse. I have only used Montblanc Royal Blue in this pen.

 

 

Not really annoying, but puzzling.

I bought mine from ebay.

 

No complaints. I didnt notice any ink stains.

Hopefully they will learn from the experience and have a more sensibly priced model for their 75th anniversary.

I was very disappointed when the pen came out. It is essentially the SS version but with a different finish and a ridiculous price tag. Should have been something special for their 50th anniversary. I already own the SS so I passed on this over priced version.

IIRC it was selling for about $240 in the Lamy USA sale earlier in the year, which would be a more palatable price to 'just' complete the collection.

Usually what I have seen with other brands - A Special Edition is accompanied with some sort of an Artwork on the Nibs, Some fine Calligraphy embossing work on the body etc. Usually the Nibs will carry fantastic curvy lines or so.

 

Given to understand that the Lamy 2000's Nib is fairly small and while its not its almost a hooded nib.

 

They could've done an amazing Lamy 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Writing Instrument embossing. Ideally on 50th Anniversary in a Minimalistic Font / Calligraphy would have been welcomed with open arms.

It would be fair to say that a bit more 'special' could have been put into the anniversary ed.

Very happy with mine. My wife bought it for last Christmas and it's superb. Purchased from a UK supplier at about 40-50% off original RRP though.

I expected a lot more for such a landmark pen. A different coloured Makrolon, perhaps: dark brown, like the old model 86, would have been nice. A light grey would have also fit the design aesthetic nicely.

 

The price premium was completely unjustified. For that price, I'd expect titanium. Since Dr. M. retired, Lamy seems to have been going for the money more and more, with less thought about innovation.

True, it wouldn't but a titanium version would have been more thoughtful with an option of XXF and BBB nibs IMO.
