Aurora Filling Mechanism Repair

I have two Aurora Optima fountain pens on which the blind cap operating the piston filling mechanism appears to have broken off.

Any suggestions on where these can be repaired would be appreciated.

is a weakness of the first serie of optima.

The only solution I know is to send to Aurora in Italy your pens.

...a weakness of the first serie of optima....

I was wondering about that since I haven't had this sort of issue with other piston filled pens.

Does anyone know --

  • if this has been corrected, and if so, when;

  • if it's also an issue with Aurora 88s

I have a few older 88s and Optimas.

Ad said is a problem only for the first serie of Optima.

No problems for the 88, the recent as well as that one of the 50's, and no problem for the Optima after the first generation.

Thank you.

And for folks here in the U. S., I've done some research and discovered that the U. S. agent for Aurora and Montegrappa, Kenro, will handle repairs. I don't think they do the repairs in house. I sent my two pens off today, and we'll see how it works out.
