Horizontal Pen Stand

I know there are other threads with the exact same title, but the focus was on other things, like combining an ink bottle with a pen. I'm attaching images of what I'm looking for, especially the wooden, spartan one, the last image, Does anyone know an online store that carries such stuff? My usage would be to put the pen at rest uncapped at the stand while talking to a person on a phone, grab the pen, make some notes, then carry on the conversation etc.

I was looking for the same thing a while back and ended up buying some knife rests from eBay and they work really well as horizontal pen rests and if you shop around they are not expensive, they usually need a clean and polish but that is all.

These ones resemble the wooden one I show above. I'm a bit reluctant to buy second-hand, so there must be a store which the one that sold the items to you bought them from.

They look gorgeous by the way, completely in line of what I am looking for.

There are lots of options on etsy and other sites if you google wooden horizontal pen stand. Several of the results would be easy to make yourself if you have a router - just get a bit that makes a 1/2 or 3/4 -inch semi-circular groove, pick your wood, route your groove, sand, and finish.

You can pick up Edwardian knife rests in lots of antique stores and eBay will have plenty (but overpriced very often, in my view). If you're lucky you can get solid silver ones for very little money. I don't know of any company that still makes them though.

The first and last link you provided me with is very promising. I have contacted the first company to see if they ship to Sweden. Thanks for the links. Yes, I have googled for "horizontal pen stand" and "horizontal pen rest" but haven't found anything, so either my glasses need a thorough cleaning or another type of search is needed :-)

I'm not the guy who knows my way around hammers and drills if you know what I mean, so I prefer to have someone make one for me.

I've always heard that fountain pens should be stored with the nib up when not in use. Is it to prevent ink leakage or something? In my scenario, I imagine a stand for one pen for temporary storage, but it is then returned to nib up storage after telephone call or whatever. That contraption looks like a Gatling machine gun

And my understanding is that horizontal is better, so that the ink doesn't drain out of the feed. (Hence the box seen in my avatar.)

Yes, the elephants are very popular as cell phone stands, but their trunks would work just as well for holding a pen - Amazon have a zillion of those, along with some cats, dinosaurs, and a dog. I thought the non-elephant phone stand above looked a little better.

Please don't pay $100 for such a simple little stand it is just three pieces of wood.

I have seen something exactly like in your photo - from massdrop. They come in multiple sizes - just a single pen or two or more if I recall. It is thin wood and it comes in a sheet. Punch it out and put it together. Have seen them in clear plastic too.
