Hi everybody ,

I was searching for some rare inks on google and found that

sells them. Upon registering with them I was asked to provide my credit card details so that they could send me the inks. But I am suspicious of this website as they don't have any phone numbers or physical address. They have now sent me an e-mail to welcome me .
Should I go ahead and purchase the inks or should I refrain ? Please share your opinion.
Best wishes
Patrick

or so it is said. I suspect this is cloud services provider rather than the company itself.

Personally I avoid organisations which want my credit card details directly rather than taking payment through a trusted third party. It does not mean I never use them, only that the less I know about them the more I avoid, entirely so on a fairly low threshhold. Note in "About us" that their security guarantee is that you can get the money back from your card issuer.

You could always try ringing their domain administrator Xiangli Li on:

phone: +86 13915996396

fax-no: +86 2586883476

e-mail: newgtld@55hl.com

however they may prove to have nothing directly to do with the company.

Sorry, on repeat reading, the information I gave was for the TOP domain, not for the qualified domain.

“Orchardlakeroadfarmingtonhills” stands out to me. That’s a ten minute walk from where I am. A google search shows there’s no other one on earth, definitely not in CN. Racine is in Wisconsin, none in CN.

1) When it comes to purchasing on the Internet if something smell funny it's probably best to trust your instincts. Not saying they're not legit - but if you err on the side of caution you'll be better off in the long run.

2) That said - credit card companies are super duper easy to work with should this be a scam. You should have no trouble getting your money back.

Given that there are big gaps (aka lots of question marks) in the information that Freddy provided (not to mention a supposed US address), I think it's definitely a case of caveat emptor....

Although Flaxmoore is not entirely correct -- I Googled the address and there is one in Michigan and possibly one in Mississippi. But yeah, not in China AFAIK (the lack of street number is also causing alarm bells).

Fake US mail addresses, Hungarian email addresses, supposedly Chinese owner, JIANGSU BANGNING SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD shows up on a bunch of scam and fraud alert websites, the .top domain has a reputation for being used by scammers (search on ".top domain scam")... It's all starting to quack pretty loudly.

The way I'd look at something questionable is like this: If you don't give them your credit card information you risk missing out on some fountain pen inks that you'd like to have. If you do give them your credit card information you risk getting ripped off, and maybe having your credit card itself compromised, with many charges from around the world maxing the card out and causing you problems. It's possible that the problems could even go beyond that credit card.

So the risk/benefit considerations are the possible benefit of getting the inks you want vs. the risk of possible identity theft by a sophisticated Internet scammer.

From what you've posted, I'd pass on them. HTH, YMMV.
