'evergreen' Color From Simple Mix

Hope my first post is a useful contribution. Noodler's 50/50 mix of Bad Blue Heron and Noodler's Black is beautiful. I searched before posting and didn't spot this recommendation.

 

I got a sample of Noodler's Bad Blue Heron from Goulet and it was a very nice grayish-teal. Bought the bottle and it was true bright teal. Color samples everywhere show BBH as more of a blue. Sampled a bottle from a retail shop and BBH does seem to be a fairly bright teal.

 

SO, I tried a 50/50 mix of Bad Blue Heron and Noodler's Black and I love it. When I was a kid the Crayola color was 'Evergreen'. It's a dark teal to my eye. I must have at least water resistance and this result is well above that. With water on a writing sample some green gets pulled up but even with a bit of green smear the mail could still be delivered. :-)

 

I left my mix in a TWSBI Eco 3 days without writing and it wrote immediately with no antics to get it started. Works well on printer paper and ok on Post-It's with a fine-ish nib. Feathers on Post-Its with medium.

So sorry to miss your question. No notification came and my settings should have triggered one. I tried sending a photo to someone individually and the varieties of cameras in phones, photo apps, computer screen settings, etc. made the pic on the received end completely unlike the ink in front of me. I've changed my opinion anyway and now use a 1:3 ratio of Noodler's Black added to Bad Blue Heron for a bit lighter green but it tames the bright teal of the original BBH nicely. (1 ml Black to 3 ml Bad Blue Heron.) If you Google 'Benjamin Moore Absolute Green' you'll see the approximate result of the 1:3 ratio. (An American paint company.)

The green is a bit darker with the 50:50 mix.
