Parker Dipless

Anyone have info on this Parker desk set? I'd equate it to an Esterbrook Dipless. The base gets filled with ink, the pen picks that up when placed in the base. The section has two reliefs (not three like VP or 75), one for your thumb, one for your top finger. The nib can be rotated similar to a VP or 75 nib. The section has degree marks, labeled 0 to 7.

Nice score Brian.... Maybe you can date the pen by the nib?

What do you figure 1930's or 1940's based on the box...

You have your secret picking locations.

BTW No auctions in the area with pens. Keep you updated when there is more that I can handle.

Cool beans! But what is that thing that looks like an ink cartridge in the top half of the pen? (photo 2)

That had me stumped for a few minutes. It appears to be permanently attached to the barrel. I believe it is simply the connector to screw the barrel to the section.

If that connector is clear lucite I would think that puts the pen in the 40's at the earliest?

Great info! Mine came without paperwork so it's helpful to see the instructions. The catalogue pages are also useful, as now I know I also have the 31-309 Jotter set.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
