Best Ballpoint/rollerball Pen To Gift?

Dear friends,

 

I am set to finish graduate school soon and am looking for a gift to get my advisor. He is a no nonsense and no frills personality so I was looking for a nice ballpoint/rollerball pen to appeal to that sensibility. Do you guys have any recommendations to fit the $100 range? I'm looking for something elegant but not flashy and something that's very nice for long writing sessions. It would also be ideal if the pen came in a good looking gift box.

The Fisher AG7 space pen makes a great gift. As does the Clutch, as long as the recipient appreciates a more nuts and bolts aesthetic.

 

There are also some very nice pens from Retro51 if you can find a design that seems appropriate.

Maybe a set of RB/BP/Pencil from Parker, Cross, Sheaffer or Waterman?

Karas - awesome pens with a no-nonsense look. I love the Ink (have three), but the Render K is great, too. Choose a finish to match his personality. Well within your price.
