Several of my go-to fountain pen sources have closed: Binder, I Sell Pens, .... Im left with just Goulet and Jet Pens. Any recommendations? I prefer USA stores for quick gratification but am also interested in getting a good deal. My usual price range in under $200 and I buy modern pens.

Thanks for your suggestions,

Karyn

Best selection is on ebay if you cant buy a very good pen on there then stop buying, affordable pens Jinhao and Baoer both made by the same company out of Solid Brass tubing,I have been using them for years and still buy them.Trust Me, Oneill

For me, there are many excellent online stores. I usually shop at Peyton Street Pens. See: http://www.peytonstreetpens.com/ Honest and down to earth service! The prices are reasonable. Always an excellent experience.

For another vintage pen dealers- I would without any reservations recommend- http://www.fivestarpens.com/start.html

These stores meet my needs and for me, the integrity matters. These colleagues are knowledgeable, honest and helpful.

Respectfully wishing you good luck.

+1 for Five Star Pens. On top of the excellent service, they are a great source for vintage pen parts.

I had a Parker 51 getting worked on by Indy Pen Dance that had an unsalvageable nib and Five Star Pens shipped a new nib I ordered from them over to IPD within hours.

Papier Plume in New Orleans (https://www.papierplume.com) is online, as well as brick and mortar... Reasonable prices, excellent customer service and good selection of writing instruments, paper and ink.

In addition, my usual go to shops include Anderson’s and Vanness...both excellent.

I am surprised to not have seen Goldspot Pens mentioned, I have done a good deal of business with them, and often their pricing is very competitive, they offer weekly specials.

Recently Nibs.com has gotten a good bit of business from me, because of the resident nib grinding services of John Mottishaw on purchases from him.

I've had excellent service from Novelli.it in Rome, thanks to FPN member 5Cavaliers' recommendation, and from Casa Della Stilografica in Firenze, and Appelboom’s.

A bunch of our favorite stores have already been listed!

Would love for you to check us out as well - our social media and web links are below. We specialize in sourcing harder to find pens, and have a great relationship with the major brands. :)

Your website is very nice to use, the photos are great - shame it is so expensive for us Europeans to order from the US !

You beat me to it, I was going to mention Novelli and Casa della Stilografica if looking for Italian pens.

Corsani in Rome is also interesting to note stilographcorsani.com,

Giardino Italiano giardino.it in Milano and

Stilo & Stile stiloestile.it also in Rome

Thanks for these additions-it’s helpful to have members vouch for reliable vendors. These days, with the Corona situation, they probably need all the internet business they can get.

I'd like to give a massive shout-out to The Pen Company (www.thepencompany.com), which is based in the UK. I live in NYC, and ordered a Lamy Nexx M from them along with some turquoise ink. They had the best price around, very reasonable shipping, and excellent reviews.

The reviews were warranted.

The pen and ink arrived quickly, but the nib was defective. James at The Pen Company quickly diagnosed the problem by email and immediately sent a replacement nib. That one was also problematic. James offered excellent advice for modifying/fixing it, but I was unable to achieve satisfactory results. At that point, I expected nothing more from The Pen Company; they had already sent a replacement nib free of charge for an inexpensive pen, along with great advice. Bad nibs, bad luck; I was prepared to order and pay for the next nib myself.

Instead, James shipped *another* replacement nib--but this time, he made sure it was thoroughly tested first. This nib also arrived in short order, and it is lovely.

You don't see customer service like that every day. In fact, you almost never see it. You can be sure I'll buy from The Pen Company again, and will not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Best,

AG

Ive had great experience with Fontoplumo. Great prices and service and they have international shipping for a very reasonable price (and free for orders over $100).

What about Dromgooles.com, they are one of my favorites.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I've only bought from them at pen shows, but they were super nice and gave me awesome prices, so I can imagine that the service online is just as great.

I think all of my other suggestions have already been mentioned.
