I use a 149 and Proust as my daily workhorses and keep 3 inked up as a side rotation. This pen is usually in the 3 side pens.

 

My model is a convertor, got it for a good price back in the day from SpeerBob, possibly just when the pistons were coming out??

 

Other factoids:

 

made of shiny resin orange, piston filler, screw cap, Vermeil trim,

closed 141mm, open 131mm length, nib 24mm,

weight 40g with and 28g without cap

diameter cap 17,4mm and body 16mm

• Cap width at band: ~18.5 millimeters

 

It's not tapered (which makes the 149 the 149) and it's a stiff write (like my Waterman Edson) and never ceases to get comments.

 

It's long and wide and gaudy (the normal DV is more pleasing to the eye) and I like it.

Just dug out the bowling ball.

 

The large nib and convertor require a deep plunge into the inkwell for refilling, had to tilt the MB Irish Green bottle to get enough into the reservoir to fill through the nib. Large hands are helpful for this....

Enclosed two pictures from the Delta Dolcevita Stantuffo Oro compared to a Montblanc Meisterstueck 149.

 

The Delta with the white cap is called Delta Dolcevita Tech&Web LE and has just a white cap and a white bottom cap.

Both Delta Pens are in a beautiful orange and the Tech&Web offers a nice look with the combination of white and orange.

 

 

They are "thick" pens but when your fingers are a little bit larger writing is pretty comfortable.

The nibs are smaller than the MB´s nib and offers very little flex. But nevertheless the nibs offer very good writing characteristics. I think the nibs are made by Peter Bock.

That pen is really in a league of it's own. Very few pens come close to in size and elegance. And that nib is the biggest in-production nib in the world at the moment.

I decided to order a Rosetta Coronado which came on Wednesday. I'm coming off a long stretch at work, so I haven't had a chance to ink it yet. First impression after handling it is that it's a comfortable pen (I have average sized hands). I'm looking forward to having some writing time with it this weekend.

The Guider Zimbo (that I mentioned ordering in a prior post) arrived yesterday from:

I bought the brown ripple, which I find ugly. I think the solid black would have been better looking. I bought it with an F nib, which I always choose. I also flattened the nib slightly, as I do with all my pens. The pen writes well and is very comfortable to hold, confirming my preference for fat sections.

 

I attempted to attach a photo, but upload failed, although at 59k, it's well under the 100k limit. This is the second time in recent days that I haven't been able to upload a photo which is well within the limit.

Not sure that would work because the Ranga 5 has a step down section which defeats the purpose of the big pen imo.

I had a chance to test the Coronado. It seems to be a fairly wet writer with the medium nib (inked with Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo). It lays down a nice line. The pen is really comfortable and should be ideal for longer writing sessions.

 

I'm glad I looked into this thread, although I think it's gonna cost me. I ordered a Bexley Prometheus last night .

I have several Prometheus. They are among my most-used and most reliable pens. And ...... many are beautiful.

i have got this Laban fountain pen, which is really thick ,the pen is 12cm capped and 14.8cm posted

Diameter at the middle is 2cm , any idea of its worth??
