That surely does look like coke bottle green. :thumbup:

I think the one I ordered is a bit darker green, but it was hard to tell by the photos.

Please tell me what size O-ring that I need for this particular fountain pen. I just ordered a few of them from EBay and I would like to make them into eye dropper pens.

The O-ring has an outer diameter of 8.75mm and is 0.8mm thick.

After measuring the O-ring, I thought the same thing. As long as the ebonite model has the same thread pattern, just silicone grease should do.

Just take the pen with you to home depot or Lowes or whatever hardware store and just ask anyone there. They have a full selection of o rings and you just have to try it on one by one.

 

They also have rubber sheets as well as liquid rubber if you don't mind playing around a little bit.

Whats your impression of the pen?

I like it. The build quality is very good. I mean very good. All the edges are rounded off nicely, threads are working perfectly, etc....... It's machine lathed so the inside of the cap/barrel is polished much better than any hand-turned ones out there. Some people might consider that "cheating" but it's also not priced/marketed as a hand made pen so I'm actually quite happy about it. Ink capacity is good, no burping whatsoever. The nib writes nicely out of box. So overall, it's probably 9/10.

 

One point off because I prefer a longer section. But as I mentioned, taking into account the form factor, it's probably a compromise. The only way I think it could be solved is by using a hooded nib as opposed to an open one. It's a #5 nib and just imagine the section extends all the way to the very tip of the nib. It's more than enough for me. And hey, just think about it, a demonstrator hooded nib eyedropper without any burping problem in the coke bottle acrylic in this form factor. It's really cool.

If it's the same nib as the M2, you're in for a treat. it's genuinely able to throw down some line variation and is a lovely, pencil like japanese XF size line (replacement nibs are available from one Ebay seller at least with M nibs) but a stub grind would be hard since the feed extends almost all the way up the nib.

 

May I ask you if the red ring with the company logo on it is removable? I'm sure it has something to do with reinforcing the rigidity of the plastic threads, but it's an absolute eyesore in my opinion. Frankly that band is the only thin keeping me from buying one.

I don't know why so many people share your opinion. I think the red ring adds just that little bit of joie de vivre to an otherwise totally austere look. It's a well made piece of aluminum that fits on the barrel, not the cap. and no, it's not removable.

 

It's a spectacular pen. Buy it. the ring will grow on you.

Very good news about the nib.

Been doubtful about the dotpad myself, since I prefer either lined or black. What doesn't agree with you?

I think it's probably the "Absinthe" color. That's how penbbs calls this acrylic and I actually quite like that name. :)

RoyalBlue, the dots are too hard to see while writing, and they are too close together. I suspect 5mm spacing, and I need at least 8mm spacing (10 would be better) in order to write comfortably.

 

Woleizihan, somewhere I think I saw the word "mint" describing the color of my pen. <shrug>

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
