Making My Pen Display

My pens needed a home, and so I turned an old book cabinet into a pen display. Here is how I did it, all for a grand total for $70

Step 1: I bought a set of slotted felt trays fro Go Pens. Great value for money. But...

So...

Then...

And...

Don't forget...

Also, to battle the growth of mold due to the insane humidity in my city, I treated the cupboard with some simple-to-source chemicals. Here is what I did:

1. Use scrubber and scrub with foamy detergent water – every nook and cranny!

2. Wipe with water and cloth, let dry

3. Spray mixture of hydrogen peroxide (3% concentration) & white vinegar 50/50, wait 15 minutes, and then wipe off with water. Each of these chemicals kills different kinds of mold, bacteria, and fungus.

4. After drying, spray (using water spray) fully dissolved half tablespoon of baking soda in glass of water. Let it dry for few hours. Do not wipe. This will prevent the mold from growing.

5. Place 5-6 bags of silicone gel (to absorb moisture in cupboard). Conceal the packets behind display boxes, etc.

Great job! I take it the pens are un-inked?

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Thanks, the Pens that are on plastic solo displays at the left and right sides of each shelf are inked (except for the glass nib ones that are uncapped). The pens on the plastic solo display keep rotating every week as I rotate the Pens I ink

I think they would be very happy to take up residence in your cabinet, but I would miss them dearly. Again a great job.

Beautiful display! I love the color change as well as the light feature.

In fact, I was looking for examples on how to display my pens. Mine are stored in a wooden box inside a closet. Ugh! Any other examples and photos from fellow FPN members?

Congrats on the display!

Thanks! I was thinking of a drawer too. But then, I realized I would see my pens less often. So, I decided to display my pens in my living room. This way, I see them every day, whenever I am at home.
