Is A Pelikan 400Nn A Decent Collectible Pen?

$300 for a $140 pen....and they can be found at very good condition at that price. Many a pen is polished back to NOS with out a sticker....no big deal,

That is why I'd never, ever sell a pen on German Ebay....when Stateside I can get $300....for my well polished E120 pen.

Was wandering around, and pens that were reasonable a while back....are now sold by pen sellers for 'Buy Now Idiot' prices. :yikes:

So the $300 for a 400nn tortoise is not quite as far out of line as I thought....when looking at some US sellers of ventage pens.

Silver can be much more expensive than what it once was.

Not only are they decent, they are basically indestructible -- very well made. The vintage 400 series are the only Pelikan that I collect and use.

Oh, and their nibs comes in all sorts of flavors -- if you can find them, that is.

When I saw your wonderful collection before, I was able to refrain from commenting. When I happened across it a second time, I had to tell you of my appreciation, my envy and my renewed interest in adding to my five 400s and 400NNs.

A full tortoise is missing by me.....four other 'tortoise' colors are missing by me. That sea green tortoise would be one worth the $300.

I have only the darker '90's one, and two light ones from @ 1954, a 400 and a 500.

Oddly the rolled gold cap of the 500 does not look good on the darker '90's tortoise.

The 'run of the mill' 400/400nn tortoise can be had on German Ebay for E100-120....up to a max of E150 for a 500. Of course one must Hunt.........but there are a lot of well to do impatient folks here, who are impatient, and have the money to throw away being so...............ruins the market....but save your money, The Next Depression is coming rapidly and the prices will fall again.

:headsmack: $75 for a P-75 and I didn't buy a hand full. :wallbash:
