What? She fed your cat her own cat??

:lticaptd:

Sorry, that just one of those little idiosyncrasies that got lost in translation. Parkette meant that the nice Scottish lady fed BOTH MacTiddles and the interloper, er, two-timing cat.

My parents had a cat that actually didn't belong to them. But from the time "Baby" (we don't know what his *real* name was) was a kitten, he would come around to our house. He'd be waiting when they'd open the curtains for the sliding glass door to the back deck from the dining room. And that was when he wasn't LITERALLY hanging from the kitchen window sill (also on the wall next to the deck) looking in.... And he would sit by my mother at dinner and put his foot up (the way a dog does for "shaking hands") so she'd feed him stuff from off her plate (he once ate 20 green beans in a row). And then around 11 PM, she'd say "Baby! What are you still doing here? You don't live here! Go home!" and they'd let him out till the next morning.

We don't know what his *real* owners thought he did all day (they lived diagonally behind us). And my mother used to wonder what the woman who bought the house after my dad retired thought when she got up and he'd be patiently waiting to be let in (or, impatiently, if he was hanging from the kitchen window...).

Great review, Vis.

I disagree with you all. It is quite interesting and not the least be dull to me. I find this color highly mysterious and quite interesting, much in the same way that Holmes might have.

One must remember that Holmes lived in the mysterious, foggy world, captured in the shading of this ink. And we mustn't forget how Holmes and Moriarty fell to their deaths over the raging falls suggesting the deeper, clear blue of water. Both of these would suggest a mysterious blue which DA has reproduced for our pleasure here.

No, I don't work for DA, but I love their ink.

This is one ink that I do not own . . . yet. It is on my list.

How does this compare to Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Kai?

SH is more of a dark blue, while Shin-kai is a less saturated blue-grey, especially after it dries.

Thank you! I may just have to get some of this and try it out!

+1

I totally agree that this is a wonderful blue. I like the faded, pale look and the grey that’s shining through. A very interesting blue. Now also on my 2018 list.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
