Help Identifying A Sheaffer

Good morning! So I'm brand new to fountain pens, and as such I don't have a lot of knowledge of the different brands and models. Also, my apologies if I use the wrong terminology in here. Upon hearing that I was interested in fountain pens, my father gave me this pen that was sitting in a drawer at his house. He doesn't know where it came from and knows nothing about it. I have tried looking through some guides, but I can't seem to nail down what model of Sheaffer this is. Any help would be appreciated, including if you can, or know someone who can bring this pen back to life if it's worth trying out.

The bladder or sac(I'm not sure what to call it) inside the pen has dry rotted and completely disintegrated when I pulled the section off the front. The band around the cap is engraved with a monogram. The end of the barrel has 491/2 written/stamped on it. Theres some writing on the side, but it's hard to see, and I haven't been able to get a decent picture. If you think it will help, I'll add the pictures I have of it. That's about all I know about it.

It is what it says it is a 49 1/2. OK, maybe I like that only so I will break it down. It is a 4 sized pen with an appropriate 4 self-filling nib. The 9 means it is 14K solid gold furniture and the 1/2 means a half width band. This one dates to approximately 1917 and is one heck of a good Sheaffer to find.
