I guess I have been 'away' too long...when I was last here 8-10 years ago... everyone loved Chinese pens 🙁  It seems a long while since anyone posted here..🙁 So I'll say I was using my Bejing Jinxing A28 todat...

Nope, they basically closed this thread and opened a new one for 2022/23 as this one was too cumbersome to go through.

I have the following in regular rotation:

Asvine

- V126

- P20 (best vac filler under $50)

Hongdian

- Forest series

- M2 (favorite pocket pen)

Jinhao

- 10

Wingsung

- 601/601a (I prefer the hood of 601s. Better behaved during heat change)

I just received a package containing a Jinhao 9019, medium nib, in transparent black with black appointments and a handful of Jinhao 82 pens in a variety of colors (also in medium nib).

It was nice to see that even with pens as inexpensive as these, Jinhao still tests them before sending them off. I had to clean blue ink out of each one. I'm looking forward to trying them out with some of the inks I haven't used in a while.

I am using my new Wing Sung 930. Learning to write with a pen this large is like learning to write as a child just starting school lol.

Just curious. I keep getting ads for Woodsworth and Black pens on my FB feed. Super cheap. Pretty pictures. I am trying to hold back, as soon I will be combining my work and home collections. But what’s up with these pens? are they legit?

I was referred to this page as being the appropriate place for this question. I didn’t realize it is an Asian manufacturer.

I also started using my new Asvine V126 in frosted black with a <M> nib and Diamine Eau de Nil ink. I'm enjoying it quite a lot!

I had the occasion to pull the nib on a new Jinhao X159 and although the feed was covered in dry blue ink there was none on the underside of the nib.

I finally received my two Asvine C80 pens (Galaxy Blue and Purple Ripple) each with the 1.1 stub nib. I inked them up with KWZ Walk Across Vistula and Taccia Murasaki Purple and they both are working very nicely from the get-go.

I like the size of the pens and the smoothness of the stub nibs, but I've got to be careful that I don't let them roll off my workspace. I did smell the chemical scent in the Galaxy Blue pen interior but it wasn't very strong and even if it doesn't die down over time, I can't smell it from the outside of the pen. The cap seems to have less odor than the body.

I'm contemplating getting a C80 in Brown Gold with a Medium nib to mix it up sometime soon.

I also switched some Troublemaker Milky Ocean from a Pilot Prera with a CM nib to a Transparent Jinhao 82 with a Medium nib. The ink was far too dry in the Prera but is writing quite a bit better in the 82. Those Jinhao 82s are quite the bargain and mine all seem to write very well with a bit of feedback like writing with a pencil.

I just received a Hong Dian A7 yesterday and spent much of the day using it. I alternate pens through the day because I find that my hand stays more relaxed that way. Today my other pen was a Nahvalur Schuylkill. Both wrote very nicely.

+1 for the Asvine C80s. 👍😀 I have 2 also.  The inside of the purple one has a faint sweet smell and the brown one smells like vanilla. 🤷‍♂️

I really like the feel of these pens.  The longer section makes them feel more ergonomic [to me] than the 9019, X159, 630 and P140.

With the C80s, it looks like Asvine has gone full Fuliwen, right down to the acrylic, so it would have been nice if they included one of the Fuliwen snakes?

I just received an order for the upcoming school year which consists of:

Jinhao 80 (fine, black with silver clip) w/ Robert Oster Steely Days, which is similar to Syo-Ro and Ku-Jaku and very pretty

Jinhao 80 (fine, black with black clip) w/ Pilot Ku-Jaku

Jinhao 10 (medium, metal grey) w/ Diamine 160th anniversary Tariff Teal

Jinhao 10 (medium, matte black) w/ Pilot Syo-Ro

Jinhao 10 (medium, black with wavy lines) w/ Pilot Yama-Budo

Asvine C80 (medium in cobalt blue) w/ Diamine Blue Velvet

I flushed them all out, dried them off and inked them up. In anticipation for drying nibs on the Jinhao 10 pens, I added some silicon grease to the trap door. I was met with some greasy nibs that wouldn't write, so I flossed them with brass shim stock and wiped them repeatedly with paper towels. They seem to be working just fine and I'm hoping the combination of silicon grease and wet inks will add up to easy writing.

I also am waiting on some Medium and 1.1 mm stub nibs for the Jinhao 80 pens. I prefer these size nibs best and am looking forward to swapping them out.

I did try a Lamy Safari nib and it was VERY loose. No go for those nibs.

The Asvine C80 is my third and I chose a medium nib to mix it up (the other two have 1.1 stubs). I really like these pens for thwir comfort and simplicity and for the really smooth and wet nibs. They put down a lot more ink that most of my other pens.

Overall, I'm in the honeymoon phase, but all seems to be working just fine and I must say that I already understand the enjoyment people are getting with these pens!

Hongdian 1860 BFM

Ink it with normal Black from Pilot

This thing is a really pleasant writer.

Will the experience get better with say Iroshizuku ink?

I'm really loving my Wingsung 630 with raden inlay and my JunLai 930 (with a self ground architect nib). The 630 is a good writer (14k nib) but the 930 (18k nib) is awesome.
