Portland Meetup?

How many Portlanders are there here? And any of you Portlanders interested in doing a meetup? It would be cool to meet some other pen heads here in town.

It's a one-day event held at a brewpub (good food & good beer!). The pub gives us a room and it's in the afternoon so we're not really competing with a drinking crowd.

 

No nibmeisters, but vintage & modern sellers. Last year someone brought a giant stack of vintage pen advertisements I had fun leafing thru, and the prior year I bought my first and second vintage flex pens.

Just a follow up on this, any news of the 2018 annual northwest pen round-up? I'm usually pretty good with computers, but when I try to search for "pdxpen" in Yahoo Groups I don't find anything...

 

Never mind about the round-up, I guess I should have searched again today as the details were just posted! I'm still curious about the pdxpen yahoo group... did it die in the last few months?

pdxpen is active.

 

Went to yahoo groups. Searched for pdxpen and...nothing.

I sent a message to the organizer that group doesn't come up in search. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

 

pdxpen is meeting 1p-4ish Sunday June 24 at Lucky Lab on Quimby. Lots of friendly pen folks, and pens and inks.

Hi all,

I talked with Stuart Hawkinson on the phone today and we agreed that we should have a pen meeting this month. The 10th is a bit too close, the 17th is Father's Day, so we figured that Sunday the 24th would probably work the best.

For those who may not know, we meet at the Lucky Labrador Brewing Co., at 1945 N.W. Quimby St., around 1:00 p.m.

You are welcome to bring pens, inks and paper. There are always lots of pens to try out, both modern and vintage.

Also, mark your calendars for the Northwest Pen Round-Up! on Sunday July 15th. I will send out a separate notice for it shortly.

If you’re in the Portland, Oregon area, head by the Lucky Labrador Brewing Co. at 1945 NW Quimby Street for the sixth annual Northwest Pen Roundup. Talk pens while you sip suds the same weekend as the area’s largest antique show. Join event organizer Stuart Hawkinson (s.hawkinson@comcast.net) and other passionate pen folks from 12 to 6 p.m.

I just found this thread (it's June 24th, so you're all having fun over at the NW Lucky Lab, right this very moment!) but at least I did find you. Thanks for the info on the PDXPen group in yahoo, I'll fumble my way through it since I've bored my entire extended family silly talking pen'n'ink and I need to connect with you good folks. Feel like a fool for not searching FPN for local penfolk before this, but at least will meet some of you on 7/15.
