more replicated advertising

in this one, the wrong pen is used (there are two Gold "Triumph" snorkels, and at the time I only had one, I now have both but haven't redone the work)

hope you enjoy

tks to @PenHerofor the original scan. I am reasonably happy with how this one came out, I still wanted it to look like a scan and I didn't want to over do it on the restoration.

edit: anyone else notice the dig at the "51" in the ad? :)

I loved the Sheaffer ads in National Geographic. We grew up using Sheaffer school pens in the '50s, and our local jeweler was a Sheaffer dealer, with a display case just inside the door. My parents broke down and bought me a PFM I when I was in the seventh grade.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Of course they DON'T mention that when you're then cleaning the pen out, there will be a lot of ink in the feed....

And I say that as someone who really likes Snorkels....

whoa... a PFM in 7th grade? ...

FPs were before my day but I do have an appreciation of what that implies!

I hope you took good care of it!

FPs in regular use predates me, but going by the "one man, one pen, one ink" theory, I suspect that was less of an issue?...

I like my snorkels too :)

if you're cleaning out a pen, if you haven't already, build @Ron Z's salad spinner centrifuge! absolutely worth it, worth it if it was 4X the price!

Just give me the Parker 51s and nobody needs to get hurt.

Oh I bought a salad spinner just for that purpose a number of years ago.  But never put the "pen centrifuge" together.  I don't really have the counter space in my bathroom, and it's often just as easy to stick a clean paper towel into one of the straight-wall votive candle holders that ARE on the counter and let the pens I've flushed in the OTHER votive candle holder drain into that.  That way I can go off and do something else in the meantime (watch TV, do the dinner dishes, run out shopping, check on the laundry loads, read, FPN, etc.).

I do the paper towel thing too, but after its final flush with water and its last spin in the centrifuge. :)

usually only takes about 2 go rounds for a snorkel, and 4 or so for a "51" to be totally clean

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
