I'm A Sad, Pathetic Stationery Junkie.

I recommend urgent action. In these current unsettling times I believe you must have 5 years supply of your fave notebook and then a backup of alternatives.

Thank you for your encouragement :)

Add lightness and simplicate.

In the last two weeks I have bought:

6 Muji notebooks, 2 A5 Midori Md, 1 A6 Midori Md, 3 bottles of Pilot ink, an A6 Kokuyo Systemic notebook cover to go with the Midori Md A6 I bought by mistake and a really cute A7 Kokuyo Systemic notebook cover that I am using as a card case/wallet/ notebook. All this because you know shipping from Japan might stop at any minute and I would be left with only two years worth of notebooks and ink. Or that’s the justification I am using for what is probably retail therapy.

I know. If the staying at home lasts much longer, I’ll be able to acquire a larger buffer, but then maybe not. More time to use what I have.

I forgot I also bought a blank regular size Traveler’s Notebook insert to check out format and paper. I kept looking at the covers but couldn’t justify the expense right now. I ended up putting it in a spare Systemic along with some diy inserts. That seems to work. I’ll give it a try for awhile.

Keep it up. Just keep thinking what is worse case scenario. And then double the back up stock.

  • 3 weeks later...

I am so disappointed this thread has gone untouched for two weeks. Someone must have broken free and purchased something?

I can help just a little with one Drawing Book from Daiso. I don't absolute need any more drawing paper, but it is interesting because the paper feels quite strange - slightly thicker and oddly plastic - I have no idea if it will work well with pen and ink. It was cheap however and if it does do well I promise to rush back for more even though it's a long drive.

If I can overcome my doldrums and procrastination I will draw in it and report back.

Will work for pens...

Thats the spirit! Daiso is always a little treasure trove. Never know what you might find. I picked up some small Maruman spiral notebooks last time - very nice.

I forgot to post about my purchases. I bought 6 notebooks on Etsy, bought a Cavellini Co notebook while shopping at Barnes and Noble when my brother was visiting, and ordered Elemental notebooks after seeing a link in an email.

If I get a chance, I’ll post a photo of them.

Wait, brick and mortar stores are still a thing? I’ve been holed up for four months only venturing out for groceries and horse feed. I just figured it had all devolved into a zombie filled apocalyptic wasteland. ;)

Careful, they may be setting a trap!

Would you have preferred a punning clan?

That would be one of the Chesterton Facebook groups. Recently a member asked, 'Why did Chesterton have a beef with grocers?'

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
