Week #41 / 8 Oct: Ink And Match - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

Recommended Posts

This week, pick an ink that matches your favourite piece of clothing or accessory, or one of your favourite personal item. Thank you migo984 for the idea.

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Great colour, stunning pics and beautiful work Lgsoltek. :notworthy1:

I couldn't choose between 2 accessories and 2 inks. I know that one isn't a piece of clothing but it is a very important accessory in my life... And yes, I have a thing for orange (and dark grey!)

Nice one LizEF. I’m with you on the white jeans... as well as grey (light and dark), indigo, washed, black and on and on.

:) Thanks, Newjelan, glad to know I'm not the only one hoping for eternal denim...

Now I see the theme was about matching clothing or another item. I would probably pick a nice mid brown to match my watch strap instead: were I to do it again.

Edit: I realise I forgot to say the ink: Diamine Twilight

Well you don't have to match only one ink and one item! Show us your other combos!

This slipped under my radar. I had a sketch ready and everything :o

Newjelan . . . THOSE SHOES ! Wowzer. Love them

Lgsoltek . . . perfect match of ink and clothing in theat first image. Perfect.

I went for black. Most of my winter clothes are black. Shoes, trousers, tops, hats. All black. The washing powder makes a lot of them fade a little hence R&K Leipziger Schwarz

I liked Leipziger Schwarz. Its not exactly black, but has a bluish greenish tint like graphite, a nice one.

(And nice sketch of course!)

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
