This Duofold - A Very Young 'vintage'?

I can only imagine that the Duofold confusion (or perhaps 'discussion' would be a better word) was the reason that the pen I showed didn't sell, it didn't even get one offer.

Do you mean Duofolds in general are not very popular or the just model that I saw is not very popular?

Apart from the Maxima and the Demi, this series of Newhaven aero Duofolds are common in the U.K. - the Slimfold and Junior Duofold possibly more so than some of the others. I had four or five arrive in a package of pens couple of weeks back.

They seem to be considered reliable and of good quality - but their lack of appeal is probably due to a sense that they are boring - the colours don't help - and bodies are all plastic - so I think I'd be inclined to agree that in general they're not popular, but I'd exclude the Maxima and Demi from that list - they are more desirable.

 

Of course, this can help when buying them:-)

Paul, I was just managing storage of my pens and all of a sudden I saw a Junior aero clearly marked as 'DUOFOLD'. Curious I looked for my other Juniors and none other than this one is marked as DUOFOLD. All others are marked as JUNIOR beside the VICTORYs that are the same size, shape and having the same #10 nibs.

well, what can I say mitto - perhaps that you might need to collect more of this series? - worthwhile stats. do require large samples you know Your revelation is perhaps surprising bearing in mind the quantity of these Newhaven aeros that you have - am sure I don't have the numbers you do, so maybe there's some particular reason why you lack those with misleading barrel imprints.

Maybe it was a disgruntled Newhaven employee mis-marking these pens.

Broad chevron cap band. Aerometric. The nib, which incidentally is a broad, reads (in this order, from tip to section):

14K

PEN

N

 

No number apart from the 14K

(And it was good of Parker to tell us that its a pen!)

 

Am I right in taking this to be an early-ish Newhaven Standard Aerometric Duofold?
