Traveler's Notebook As Diary

Hi there!

I have been looking at what I do for my diary for next year, and I have decided on a Traveler's Notebook!

How do you guys set up yours for diaries? I'm thinking of having the 2018 weekly planner (for appointments, work meetings, etc) followed by an undated daily planner (for extra information or daily reflection).

I set up mine with an undated daily planner/journal ( with grid ) and a cornell layout notebook. I would say the scheduling is better done these days on the smartphone with your preferred scheduling / calendar app ( cloud enabled would be better ) and the paper journal reserved for documenting / planning important matter and detailing events

Thank you for your thoughts :)

I currently have everything set up in my phone, but find that I forget things more that way as I don't ever write them down, just type them into my phone!

Also, the placement of the knot inside the back cover of the jornal for the elastic closure seems like a fairly average idea- does it effect how well the page lays flat?

Only with the last few pages of the back book. I think originally it was on the side and I some people have moved it back (it just needs a hole in the.spine). Note sure the reason why it was moved unless it interfered with the elastic.

I was thinking of removing it and having it as an external band, but I wasn't sure how it would go! You could also untie It and retie the string with the knot on the outside so there's a smaller bump

I should wait and see if it's a problem first. I have, um, several TNs and have never found it to cause any trouble.

As to diary use, don't have much going on so find the dated weekly/memo refill fulfils my requirements admirably.

In mine, I've got two graph paper refills (a Tomoe River one for a home bullet journal, and a Midori one for a work bullet journal) and a lined Tomoe River refill for free-form journaling. I've got a couple of knotted strings tied to a lobster clasp to act as bujo bookmarks, and a magnetic owl clip to keep my place in my journal. All in all, it makes me pretty happy, and fits my needs quite well.

Like your ideas. Pics would be greatly appreciated.
