With Momiji you should be able to see some sheen. On the swab you even see sheen on the outline of the letters.

 

For sheen you need;

1. Enough quantity of ink, so with a dry pen it is harder, a gusher makes it easier

2. the less absorptive the paper, the easier it is to get sheen, this makes sure there is enough ink while drying
