Sonnet Silver Lustre

Eccles

Recommended Posts

Given my recent experience with Parker imprecision in their pen names, I wonder what the finish is on the Silver Lustre version of the Sonnet, which was introduced in 2008.

Parkercollector.com does not say, and being an older model, the Parker Pen site is unhelpful.

It's easy to assume it is silver plate, but if CT can be PT, who the heck knows.

Does anyone here?

Thanks,

Glenn.

Since there is the Gold Lustre Sonnet which is gold plated the Silver Lustre should be silver plated. The nib on SL, however, looks to be rhodium plated.

Thanks Khan. Those were the assumptions I was working on, but my trust in Parker terminology is a bit ragged of late.

Are you celebrating 70yrs of independence with a new pen?

Glenn.

Yes, with a pair of English R. Silver capped FP+BP set (yes, yes, 51 fountain and ballpoint pen set :)) that I picked up among seven other Parker 51s for 70th Independence Day celiberations. Thank you, Glenn.

Ok, so it is nickle/paladdium plated. Thank you, Paul. I got both the gold and silver lustre versions in 2008 or may be in 2009.

Sonnets are beautiful pens but they no more attract me because of the ink drying up syndrome.

The nickel/palladium will not tarnish like silver, and will probably have a slightly different color.

For love of it. And yet not waste time either.
