Jinhao Pens And Jowo Nibs

Just thought it was worth noting this, in case someone looks it up.

A few months ago, I reported my experiments at knocking out the existing housing and feed from the sections of Jinhao X750s and 159s, and supergluing the WIN housing that sometimes comes with JoWo nibs in place, thus enabling the JoWo feed to be inserted with the nib.

I've discovered that the JoWo nib and feed do in fact fit into the original Jinhao housing, at least sometimes (it can be a bit of a tortuous process), thus obviating the requirement to bugger about with the section.

In fact, the last pen I sorted out, tonight, seems to flow a lot better with a JoWo nib and feed squeezed into the existing Jinhao housing.

Do make sure, of course, that the feed goes all the way down into the housing, otherwise you'll get a gap, and a bubble, and no air exchange, and no writey. Happens to me all the time.

As I've said before, though. These pens and nibs are my best writers once adjusted to my taste.

I'd much rather keep the original. I would never inflict a Jowo nib on any of my pens. And the increase in flow may have been due to the act of disassembly which may have made some sort of alteration to it.

I may not like overly smooth nibs but the Jinhao nibs are good. The only aspect that demands improvement is the converters with their narrow nozzles.

I put a Nemosine stub in mine and kept the original feed. I didn't try the original nib though so I can't say how they compare. I adore the Nemosine stub though.

Yes of-course. It is widely known the Jowo #6 (6mm) nibs just drop right into many Chinese pens with #6 nibs. For-example the Jinhao X750 & X450 pens. Goulet pens discusses doing the replacement complete with video:

My only Jinhao pen so far is a chunky one called Pearl Windows. I'm pretty sure it's a no 6 nib, so thank you for this information. :)

I really don't want to start supergluing "WIN housing" (??) into place though. That sounds like it could be a disaster waiting to happen for me. :(

I know it's widely-known.

My point was not about merely the nib, but that the JoWo feed fits in the original Jinhao housing. This isn't always the case with feeds and housings from different sources.

Of course.
